I'm Rev Jean
My aim is to create personal, meaningful, memorable ceremonies filled with love. It is a privilege to get to know couples and families and get to help them and work with them at both the happiest and saddest moments in their life.
Ceremonies that I offer at Jean Thomson Ceremonies @ Make a vow.info are wedding celebrations, legal weddings, civil partnerships, vow renewals and baby naming ceremonies.
I am a Minister with the Open Sanctuary and as such I'm authorised by the Registrar General to carry out legal weddings anywhere in Scotland which are lovingly and authentically YOU.
Marriage is an act of combining two people: It is the merging of two souls as one and is a bond that has no competition in this world.
Your wedding is the most important day of your life. My role will be to help you make a vow in your own way, in a ceremony that is unique, personable, memorable, meaningful and fun.........A perfect reflection of you.
Ceremonies that I offer at spiritintheskyceremonies include funerals, memorials, scattering of ashes and Interments.
I have the honour and privilege of walking alongside families at the highest and lowest moments in their lives from welcoming new life, joining them in matrimony, to helping them when the loss of a loved one is causing so much pain.
I am a really good listener and will take the time to get to know you and weave that into the script to create the perfect ceremony. My style is to walk with you every step of the way, guiding and supporting you from our first meeting 'til the end of the ceremony, and beyond.

Weddings
Whether you want a romantic, fun filled marriage ceremony, one with rituals, a surprise wedding, or a simple no fuss marriage ceremony, you have came to the right place. Not sure yet which type of ceremony to choose? No worries, we will explore all the possibilities and come up with a plan that will be totally right for you. I hear you asking why should you choose me. Plain and simple, I love my job, I am relaxed and capable, and making your wedding ceremony amazingly wonderful and perfect for both of you, and your guests, is at the heart of all I do.
I prefer to see my couples in person for a no obligation chat to see if I am the right fit for them. Following that we can arrange to meet to plan your ceremony in detail. I will give you your homework and when you get this back to me I will prepare a draft ceremony to see if we are on the right page and work closely with you to create your perfect ceremony.
You may want to include Music and readings special to you both, personalised vows with modern or ancient rituals or a simple no fuss ceremony.

Vow Renewals
What type of vow renewal ceremony are you looking to plan? Whether it is a Small and intimate vow renewal or a big celebration of marriage or commitment renewal give me a call to schedule an appointment and see what I can do for you.
The ceremony broadly echoes the marriage or commitment ceremony in structure. You can reaffirm those vows or exchange new vows that reflect the maturity of your relationship. If you have children you may wish to involve them in the ceremony. Whatever your thoughts are I will be more than happy to make your dream vow renewal a reality to say 'I still do'. and affirm your choice was a good one and you are sticking with it. Baby Naming
Being a mum, a nana and a great grandmother I Just love baby naming ceremonies. Baby naming ceremonies are a wonderful way to introduce your new addition to your family and friends and to communicate your commitment to the child, to their welfare and their future happiness. There are many different elements that you can introduce into your ceremony to make it unique, personal, meaningful and symbolic of the love and dedication that goes into raising your child. Children of any age can have a ceremony and you can include whoever you choose to take part in the ceremony. It can include a ritual or rituals within it if you so wish, such as a rose petal shower, remembrance candles, unity candles, sand ceremony, jar full of wishes, blessing stones or time capsules, the list is endless.

Jean married us both on 9th February 2024 and what a beautiful ceremony.......she is really a true treasure and we can't thank her enough. From the very first meeting we knew we didn't want anyone else to marry us....she kept in touch all the time and done everything and more for us. We also feel we have earned a friend as well.
