Hi I'm Jean, I am a celebrant and help couples with their wedding ceremony - the way they want it. This blog is all about Stephen & Yvonne who got married at the Lynnhurst Hotel.

I first met Yvonne and Stephen early January 2023 in the saddest of circumstances – at the meeting I was attending to arrange Yvonne's dear mum’s celebration of life service.

A few weeks later I posted a reel on Instagram on the Friday showcasing my stand at the forthcoming wedding exhibition where I was going to be in attendance over the following two days. That evening I received a telephone call at my hotel room from Yvonne. ‘I didn’t know you did weddings said Yvonne’  ‘Prior to my mum passing I got engaged and she was over the moon and so happy with my choice of a sapphire engagement ring in her favorite colour of blue’ ‘ I couldn’t think of anyone else I would want to marry Stephen and I but you. Our wedding  date is 15th November next year’.

A few weeks later we met up and started to plan their ceremony. Yvonne and Stephen have an incredible connection, they think at the same time, and laugh at the same time and share a love of movies and red wine.  Not only do they love each other romantically and they do, you can see it in every look, every touch every moment they’re together – they also love one another as friends. In fact they are best friends, constantly giggling and taunting and teasing each other and very plainly and obviously joking and having fun together.  It was no surprise that their wedding ceremony and the wedding celebration that followed, was unique, personable, memorable, meaningful and fun with a movie and red wine theme and this theme was threaded throughout their beautiful ceremony and wedding reception.  What a truly special, relaxed, romantic, fun ceremony we had. I shared their fabulous and very romantic love story, the answers to some secret questions were revealed, we had a handfast, vow and ring exchange, some guest participation and they sealed the deal by drinking from the quaich. No it wasn’t filled with red wine as Yvonne had expected but with whisky so that Stephen could see her face grimace as he knew she hated the taste of whisky……plus he knew it was safer than red wine as Yvonne is known to regularly spill her wine.

Jean took the time to visit with us, get to know us and put so much thought and attention to detail into our ceremony, when we were sent our "draft" of our ceremony, there was next to nothing we wanted changed.

Our wedding was as close to perfect as we could have hoped for and that all started with Jean's ceremony. Jean captured Yvonne and I to a tee and delivered it with such passion and energy, it summed my new wife and I up perfectly.
